Falling through the sky
Visions of old memories
Remembering the first encounter
With that dark lonely night
I was beaten down
My heart was broken
I had lost another day
The bruised scars tore open
Blood stained the carpet floor
I would have cried, shed a tear
I was emotionless, disoriented
I reached for the northern star
The only light that could guide my way
Everytime I reached
I was holding back on that past
It was the one I knew; understood
I asked myself over and over
What could be lost from letting go?
When I finally did
I felt gravity pulling down on me
And here I am falling fast
Even with knowing the end is near
Saying goodbye to memories, I feel free
And for this brief moment in time
I don’t have his finger prints on me.
.
.
.
I reached the bottom.
I obliterated.
And I turned to dust.
